Step 1
In a blender, add onion, ginger, garlic, pear, kiwi, oyster sauce, soy sauce, sugar, and water. Blend until all ingredients are well mixed, then pour over the beef ribs. Cover and refrigerate to marinate for at least 6 hours or overnight.

To Cook The Rice
Step 2
Bring water to boil in a small pot, add washed sushi rice and bring to the boil again. Put the lid on, lower the heat and cook for 12-15 minutes. Turn off the heat and set aside with the lid on until ready to use.

To Cook The Beef

Heat the barbecue 10-15 minutes before cooking. Once heated, cook the ribs for 6-8 minutes on each side, once cooked set aside for 2-4 minutes before serving. If using an oven, preheat to 200°C, place the ribs on the oven rack with a drip tray underneath. Cook for 10 minutes to get colour, then lower the heat to 160°C and continue cooking for 15-20 minutes.

Options To Serve

To cook the broccolini, add it to a mixing bowl, season with salt and oil to coat, cook on the bbq for 2-4 minutes after the ribs, set a side ready to serve. You can also char the broccolini on a flat tray in the oven until tender.

Step 5
Slice garlic, slice green chilli, pick and wash lettuce and steam bean sprouts. Plate up steamed rice for the side dishes.

Step 6
To make a dipping sauce, add a pinch of salt in a small bowl, pour in sesame oil and soy sauce.

Step 7
Place all ingredients separately on the table for guests to assemble to their liking.
