Turkish Mild Pepper Paste (Biber Salcasi)
Turkish mild pepper paste – or biber salcasi – is a thick deep red paste made by blending together cooked red peppers and salt. Use the mild Turkish pepper paste in dressings for bulghur wheat salads, stir into shakshuka, and even mix the pepper paste together with za’atar, spread on bread, and cook in the oven. Hot pepper paste is also avialable.
Ingredients: fresh red pepper, salt, sunflower oil, acidity regulator (citric acid E330), preservative (sodium bensoate E211, potassium sorbate E202).
