Du Kang baijiu spirit is an intensely fragranced ‘wine’ brewed from sorghum, rice and spring water. The Du Kang distillery is one of the oldest in China, and is named after a man who is known in legends as the inventor of baijiu.
Du Kang uses ancient brewing techniques – such as using hollowed out mulberry trunks as ‘brewing pits’, using basalt-filtered spring water and aging the spirit for 20 years – to produce a more mellow and sweet tasting spirit.
Be warned, baijiu is very intense the first time you sip it!
