Bullhead BBQ Sauce
Bull’s Head brand shacha barbecue sauce is a famous condiment or paste, widely used in the Fujian province of South East China, and in nearby Taiwan. Both regions focus on the depth of umami flavours in their cuisine, and this unique shacha sauce – rich in dried fish – packs an umami rich punch. The salt-savoury shacha barbecue sauce is a great all round condiment. It can be used as a base for soups, as a marinade for BBQ meat (also know as Chinese sa-te, or ‘satay’ though different from South-East Asian peanut satay), as a condiment with Chinese hot pot, or just a teaspoon added to a stir-fry will transform the flavours.
Ingredients: Soybean oil (64%), dried lizard fish, garlic, shallots, sesame, chili powder, coconut powder, ginger, sichuan pepper, salt, pepper.
