The Millefiori di Vulcano honey of Ape Nera Sicula Amodeo Carlo is certainly characterised by the territory of the Island of Vulcano, where the plants present absorb all the nuances of this mineral-rich and sandy soil, originating from eruptions with fine ash. The result is a millefiori honey characterised by all these oligominerals. It is a complete, rich honey and an excellent sweetener. Flowering takes place from April until September – October. Like the whole range of honeys from the Carlo Amodeo company, in order for the Volcano Wildflower Honey to maintain all its properties for longer, it is extracted from the honeycombs taken from the flowering areas every 7 days to avoid oxidation at high temperatures, immediately centrifuged, decanted, potted and placed in a cold store at 4 degrees.

Apicoltura Carlo Amodeo boasts a production of the finest and most typical Sicilian honeys that originates from the native Sicilian bee, the Black Bee (Apis mellifera siciliana), which has also become a Slow Food Presidium. Defined as black because of its dark colour, the Sicilian bee is distinguished by some important peculiarities such as productivity and earliness. Moreover, the Sicilian bee has a very low honey consumption and a strong capacity to develop from small nuclei.

Please note that the information on the density and colour of honey described on this page may vary slightly depending on the time of year.
